Bizarre statement in April 2012 Awake
by dozy inas books go, it is tiny, but it is immeasurably great in its essence.
it can be carried in ones pocket, but if it were found in a library of 90,000 different books, it would probably turn out to be the most important one of them all.. wow a strong endorsement of the bible?
er no this is the wtbts we are talking about here.

Are we living with the last generation of Scientologists?
by Gayle inhttp://www.thevine.com.au/news/current-affairs/know-this-tv-binging,-immaterial-products,-scientology's-end,-italian-tears,-the-kickstarter-scam20120122.aspx.
are we living with the last generation of scientologists?
over the past decade, membership has dropped in the us by 20,000. in an article for lrb titled "religion, grrrr" rachel aviv reviews one of the only academic studies of scientology to date.

Scientology just had their own "Ray Franz" moment when former executive Debbie Cook just blasted church leader David Miscavige. Only difference is that she was hard core until the very end. Miscavige is known for verbally and physically abusing fellow members. He keeps them in a trailer in the California desert called "The Hole" with very little food and with no toilet facilities. There is a substantial movement both within and outside of Scientology to dismiss Miscavige and go back to the teachings of Hubbard. While Scientology as the larger movement wont entirely flame out, it's possible that this split could send both sides into remnant organizations such as the old Bible Student ones that are still in existence today.
Thanks for posting this as I hadn't heard of her or this situation. The Paul Haggis situation last year made for some very good reading and made David Miscavige look like like a bully on criminal levels. I'm curious to see how this all plays out now since Ms.Cook has made a play.
On a side note, the WT is due for something too. Even without the insiders who occasionally post here, it's evident within the literature that there are multiple factions vying with one another for what gets disseminated to the JW population. In this day and age of multi & mass media, it would be devestating to the organization if a WT heavyweight made a play.

APRIL 2012 Watchtower and my family is about to shun me again...here we go! go1
by itscrap&theyknowit! inmy brother told me about my mom's assembly for january 2012 about november 2011. so did my mom and my older brother.. everybody in my family is jehovah's witness.
nobody is a chistian.. well, this week alone started on sunday: text message, "hey, getting a hotel room... (roach motel: the society has soooo much control over the cult dummies that all that follow this crap stay in the most lowly, bug-infested establishments because you need to humble yourself for when armageddon comes.... bull sh**!!!
) ...so, you and the kids can come to swim in the roach motel pool and get a free roach motel dinner.

Classic post, by a poster with a classic name! So true about the Roach Motels too! All these years spending hundreds of dollars for a few days in some sorry motel or even a nice hotel overnight while during the day sitting uncomfortably all dressed up listening to the same damn information that we heard the previous year. Corny dramas, poorly written books with recycled garbage. One of the only positive things I can conjur from all of this was being able to have the word, soliloquy, in my vocabulary.
Everybody in my family is Jehovah's Witness. Nobody is a Christian.

Kobe charged ! so sad !, will JW's use him as an example for their young ?
by run dont walk inanytime something went wrong in the world with an individual, they would use them as example over and over and over again.. the most common one i heard was brother a got into big trouble with __________ (insert problem here, pick any one), see this is what happens when you leave the organization.. so how many jw's will be saying ............. "did you hear what happened to kobe, big successful athlete, see he didn't have god's organization and satan got him.".
i wonder how many jw parents especially in the la area will make their kids stop wearing number 8. he did and admit to committing adultrey.
sexual assault, i don't think so.

Sheesh. Why get married if you're capable of generating that kind of income and don't have any moral or social hangups about sex or relationships? I'll never understand that, never. The only thing I can chalk it up to is those boys are young when it happens and don't have enough sense to not allow themselves to get whipped. Tiger is a classic case of a dude with zero experience and those women made a fool out of him. Kobe I think just let his arrogance catch up with him thinking nothing like this could ever happen to him cuz he's not like other fellas out there.

This right here is when I'm in the most arrogant of moods when I feel like my doo-doo don't stink. This is the kind of music that motivates me to tell a beautiful and sophisticated woman that she only look good because she's with me. This is flossy car music at it's best. I can picture James Woods listening to this in his Lambo flicking cigar ashes at liberals.

This is gym music. If you're looking to shed some pounds, or looking for the perfect soundtrack to get your veins boiling before hitting the gym, I suggest M.O.P..

Some years ago, I fell into a little bit of a depression, and musically there was nothing that I felt. Hip Hop was too party at the time, and I was feeling too down in the dumps. I heard this song one night in a record store, and it opened the doors to Post Punk and Alternative for me. I still feel real reflective and moody after hearing this. Never would have been exposed to Joy Division or Sisters of Mercy had it not been for this song.

Although I'm rooting for NE, I can understand the SF love. Everybody has been a 49er fan at some point during their lifetime.
